Southsea Photographic Society

image

If you live near/know me then chances are I’ve probably chewed your ears off over joining this group.

If you don’t already know the Southsea Photographic Society is a celebration of all forms of photography in the regio. With the chance to take part in monthly photo challenges and the prospect of meet ups (read: pub) its a great way to push your skills and meet like minded individuals.

Seriously, blurb aside, fucking join it.

I have an old award issued by the Photographic South sea Society in the form of a copper flash pan with the emblem of a 3 masts man of war sailing ship. Is there or are there in old records of these awards anywhere that you may know of?

Wow, sorry for my late reply – I’ve been sans laptop for some time.

I wasn’t aware that there was an actual Photographic Society outside of some of us pub-goers, so that’s quite interesting! Have you got a way of taking a shot of that trophy, it would be nice to see! I’ll have a word and see if anyone knows anything of that!

Kyle,I have several photos of this very old award.
Send me an email address or a link to where I can post them for you.
The award is about 3 feet tall made of copper.
It is in the shape of an old coper flash pan.
It has a symbol of a tall sailing ship on the back with a wood handle for the flash pan.
        John
